Preparation and Characterization of Magnetic Paper

Abstract：Magnetic papers have been successfully prepared from bleached spruce kraft pulps via lumen loading or in situ synthesis process. Good magnetic performance could be obtained in the optimal preparation conditions: by method of lumen loading, stirring speed 2500 r/min, stirring time 30 min; by method of in situ synthesis, reaction temperature 60℃and stirring speed 1000 r/min. The loading degree of magnetic particles of magnetic paper by method of lumen loading is lower than that by in situ synthesis.The structure and properties of magnetic paper were studied by using scanning electron microscope (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The XRD results confirmed that the magnetic particles are Fe3O4；the magnetic properties of the in situ synthesis papers are lower compared to the lumen loading papers due to the nanosized magnetite particles possess super-paramagnetic behavior；The SEM micrograph showed that the size and the distribution uniformity of the magnetic particles inside the lumen for the in situ synthesis papers are much better than that of the lumen loading papers.

Preparation of the Fire-retardant Air Filter Paper for Internal Combustion Engine

Abstract：In order to improve the flame-retardant properties of air filter paper for internal combustion engine, the effect of mass ratios of bromine and antimony in bromide-antimonite synergistic flame retardant system on fire-retardant performance of air filter paper was studied. The results showed that the optimal mass ratio of the two was 3∶1. On this condition, the effect of the dosage of flame retarder on flame-retardant property, mechanical properties and permeability was further investigated. The results showed that the flame-retardant property satisfied the requirement of the standard GB/T14656—1993 when the retention rate of flame retarder was 25%. Meanwhile the paper stiffness increased by 20%, and bursting strength and permeability were reduced by 11% and 10% respectively.

摘 要：调控培养白腐菌Flammulina velutipes得到漆酶/木聚糖酶体系LXS（laccase-xylanase），将LXS用于马尾松硫酸盐浆（KP）漂白预处理研究，得到优选的预处理条件为：pH值4.2、浆浓3%、温度40℃、预处理时间3 h和酶用量10 IU/g。经LXS和漆酶介体体系LMS（laccase-mediator）预处理后的浆料再经碱抽提，卡伯值分别比对照浆降低9.2%和8.3%。LXS预处理后的浆料再经DED漂白，漂后浆料白度比对照浆高6.0%，接近经LMS预处理再漂白的浆料白度，并且经上述两种漆酶体系预处理的漂白浆的强度与对照浆相比均没有明显降低。漆酶/木聚糖酶体系有望代替昂贵的漆酶/介体体系实现漆酶用于纸浆漂白的工业化生产。
Study on Laccase/xylanase System Pretreatment in Pinus Massoniana Kraft Pulp Bleaching

Abstract：LXS (laccase/xylanase system) was obtained after regulated cultivation of Flammulina velutipes. Pinus massonia kraft pulp was pretreated with LXS before DED sequence bleaching and the result were compared with the LMS (laccase/mediator system) pretreatment. The result showed that the optimal conditions of pretreatment were as following: pH 4.2, pulp consistency 3%, temperature 40℃, treatment time 3 h, and enzyme dosage 10 IU/g. The kappa numbers of the pulps which were pretreated with LXS and LMS and then extracted with alkali were reduced 9.2% and 8.3% compared with the control sample respectively. The brightness of the pulp pretreated with LXS and then bleached with DED sequence was close to that of the bleached pulp pretreated with LMS, and was 6.0% higher than that of the control pulp. Moreover, the strength of these two bleached pulps pretreated with LXS or LMS systems was similar and there was no obvious decrease compared with that of the control pulp.

摘 要：采用木聚糖酶处理混合杨木APMP浆，研究木聚糖酶对浆料滤水性能的影响，同时考察木聚糖酶对纸浆强度的影响。实验结果表明，木聚糖酶能有效改善混合杨木APMP浆的滤水性能，同时纸浆的强度性能略有提高。木聚糖酶改善混合杨木APMP浆滤水性能的最佳实验条件为：酶用量1.5 U/g绝干浆、浆浓0.5％、pH值7.0、温度45℃、时间30 min，在此条件下，与未经木聚糖酶处理的浆料相比，打浆度下降了4.5°SR，动态滤水时间明显缩短。
Improvement of Drainability of Poplar APMP Pulp by Xylanase Treatment

Abstract：Xylanase was used to treat poplar APMP pulp to improve the pulp drainability. The effects of xylanase treatment on drainability and strength properties of poplar APMP pulp were studied. The results showed that xylanase treatment can effectively improve the drainability of poplar APMP pulp and the pulp strength properties. The optimal conditions of xylanase treatment are enzyme dosage 1.5 U/g, pulp consistency 0.5%, pH value 7.0, temperature 45℃ and reaction time 30 min.

Effect of Silver-doped Zeolite on Physical Properties of Antibacterial Coated Paper

Abstract：There are many advantages associated with the use of silver-doped zeolite as antibacterial agent, such as high durability, high antibacterial performance, and excellent thermal stability and safety. In this work, the use of silver-doped zeolite in paper coating was preliminarily investigated, and the influence of zeolite dosage on paper properties (including optical properties and printability) and antibacterial performance was elucidated. The electron probe micro-analyzer (EPMA) and atomic force microscope (AFM) were used in the analysis of the surface morphology of the coated paper samples. The experimental results showed that, the use of silver-doped zeolite significantly contributed to the improvement on paper's antibacterial performance. Paper brightness was somewhat negatively influenced as a result of zeolite addition. It was also found that, the effect of zeolite addition on paper color, printability, and surface morphology was only negligible.

摘 要：通过化学方法将轻质碳酸钙（PCC）沉淀在重质碳酸钙（GCC）表面，实现对GCC表面包覆改性，借助SEM观察了改性后GCC的表面形态，研究了不同反应条件下制备的包覆型GCC加填对纸张性能的影响。结果表明，包覆型GCC表面沉积了一层PCC粒子。反应浓度0.2 mol/L、反应温度25℃、n（GCC）∶n（CaCl2）为3∶1条件下制得的包覆型GCC在纸张中的留着率高，对纸张强度影响较小。加填25%包覆型GCC的纸张性能比加填15%未包覆的GCC的略好。
Preparation of Coated GCC and Its Effect on the Property of Paper

Abstract：In the paper, GCC was modified by precipitating PCC on its surface with chemical method. The surface morphology of the modified GCC was observed with the help of SEM. Coated GCCs prepared under different reaction conditions were applied in papermaking, and the effects of coated GCC loading on the paper property were studied. The results indicated that the GCC was coated by a fine layer of PCC. As fillers in papermaking, the one showed higher retention in wet end and lower influence on paper strength could be prepared under the conditions of concentration about 0.2 mol/L, temperature about 25℃ and the molar ratio of GCC and CaCl2 about 3∶1. The properties of paper added 25% modified GCC were better than those added 15% unmodified GCC.

摘 要：以异佛尔酮二异氰酸酯（IPDI）、聚醚二醇（PTMG2000）、N-甲基二乙醇胺（MDEA）、苯乙烯（St）和丙烯酸丁酯（BA）等为主要原料制备了无溶剂阳离子型聚氨酯/丙烯酸酯核壳乳液表面施胶剂，系统研究了n（—NCO）∶n（—OH）、MDEA用量以及m（St）∶m（BA）等对制备表面施胶剂性能的影响，并通过红外光谱（FT-IR）、热重分析（TGA）等对其进行了表征。结果表明，当n（—NCO）∶n（—OH）=1.0～1.1，MDEA用量为6%（对单体总质量），m（St）∶m（BA）=2.0时，纸张施胶度可达到120 s，纸张耐折度可提高42%，抗张强度可提高68%。
Study on the Preparation of Cationic Surface Sizing Agent of Polyurethane/Polyacrylate Composite Emulsion with Core-shell Structure

Abstract：In order to prepare a new cationic polyurethane/polyacrylate composite emulsion surface sizing agent without organic solvent application and with significant sizing efficiency, the cationic composite emulsion was prepared by using IPDI, PTMG2000, N-MDEA, styrene (St), butylacrylate (BA) as raw materials. The effects of the total mole ratio of —NCO and —OH, the content of MDEA, ratio as well as the amount of St and BA on the performance of the resultant surface sizing agent were investigated, and it was characterized by the methods of FT-IR and TGA. The results showed that under the condition of n(—NCO)/n(—OH)=1.0～1.1, dosage of MDEA 6%, m(St)/m(BA)=2.0, the sizing degree was up to 120 s, the folding endurance improved by 42% and tensile strength increased by 68% when the surface sizing agent was applied.

Characterization of DCS in Water Circulation System of a Recycled Fiber Based Newsprint Mill

Abstract：In this paper, white water from different units of the water circulation system in a recycled fiber based newsprint mill was examined. Characteristics of the dissolved and colloidal substances including DCS, DS, CS, SS and TS were analyzed, and furthermore, their distribution and changes in each operation units were discussed. The relation between conductivity, cationic demand, turbidity and pH values was also analyzed. The result showed that the content of DCS existed in the first loop of the system was higher than that in the second loop and the paper machine loop. The DCS in the white water of the white water tower and 2# DAF accounted for 88% of TS, meanwhile, the DS accounted for over 90% of DCS, and for example, DS/DCS was 98.2% in the white water from the press section of PM. The DCS was consisted of mainly DS and only a limited CS. DCS accumulated gradually with running of the PM. 80% or even more SS could be effectively removed in a DAF, which resulted in the removal of CS.

Aminating Modification of Lignin

Abstract：The lignin from black liquor was modified through Mannich reaction to synthesis a kind of cationic surfactant-lignin amine. The nitrogen content of the sample was determined by element analysis. The relationship of the extent of lignin modification and reaction temperature (A), tetraethylene pentamine dosage (B), formaldehyde dosage (C) was studied by using orthogonal experimental design, to find the major factors affecting the nitrogen content and the optimal process condition. The performance of the modified samples was charactered by viscosity and surface tension, and the product structure was studied by infrared spectrum, TG and SEM. The results showed that: the major factors influencing modification rate are formaldehyde consumption and temperature. The surfactivity of the modification product increases obviously.

摘 要：初步考察了不同稀释倍数的棉秆制浆废水经枯草芽孢杆菌转化后的转化液（简称转化液）对番茄各个生长阶段的影响。结果表明，稀释倍数适宜的转化液对番茄发芽、幼苗和植株的生长有较好的促进作用，当转化液稀释15倍（稀释后体积对稀释前的体积比）时，番茄的发芽率、幼苗鲜质量、VC含量较清水对照组分别提高了9.7%、29.2%、11.3%，植株株高较清水对照组增高了10.2 cm。
Effects of the Bioconverted Cotton Stalk Pulping Waste Liquor on the Growth of Tomatoes

Abstract：The effects of different concentration of the bioconverted cotton stalk pulping waste liquor (after fermentation by Bacillus subtilis) on the growth of tomatoes were studied. The results showed that the bioconverted liquid, with the suitable concentration, can be of benefit to tomato seeds germination, seedlings and plant growth. It was concluded that the bioconverted liquid which was diluted 15 times has a better effect than other concentration on all of indexes. Among them, seed germination rate and seedling fresh weight were respectively increased by 9.7%, 29.2%; plant height was higher by 10.2 cm, VC content was increased by 11.3% compared with the control group.

New Advances on the Brightening Efficiency of Optical Brightening Agent (OBA) in HYP-containing Fine Papers

Abstract：In recent years, the high yield pulp (HYP) has been found an increasing application in value-added paper grades due to its cost advantages and unique properties. However, the concern still remains on the negative effect of HYP on the optical properties of fine papers. optical brightening agents (OBA) can be used to diminish or offset the negative effects of HYP on the optical properties of fine paper. The brightening efficiency of OBA depends on its efficiency and retention in the paper sheets. In this paper, some parameters influencing the effectiveness and retention of OBA were discussed, such as HYP substitution ratio, HYP brightness, anionic trash and fines in HYP. The new advances on the brightening efficiency of OBA in HYP-containing papers were summarized.

Managing Fiber Lines for Improved Output and Quality

Abstract：Over the period, most of the fiber lines have deviated significantly from the standard operating procedures provided by the equipment/technology suppliers for a given raw material. Our experience shows that the two fiber lines are most likely to have different pulp output and quality even if they operate with more or less similar technology and chip furnish. This could be due to many reasons such as operating practices and the use of specialty chemicals to enhance productivity and quality. Though most of the fiber lines aim to maximize their profit but the vital question is as to how to minimize these variations. While working with different fiber lines, our strategy is to interact closely with the operating management to optimize pulping process while running applications such as digester additive, pitch control, and DCM extractive, brown stock washing and scale control applications to improve pulp quality and output. With a thorough understanding of the wood science and chemistry, and that of the pulping technology used, these efforts are clubbed with the innovative use of the aforesaid applications. Additionally with continuous focus on introducing new technologies to the fibers lines such as partial auto-causticizing technology, we not only provide an impetus to mill's ongoing efforts for an improved environmental management but also help to reduce the production cost. Overall our BEST PRACTICES are aimed to provide continuous improvement to the fiber lines to achieve their bottom lines on a sustainable basis.

Application of the Closed Circulation Assembly in Protecting the Vacuum Pump from Scale
